I recently talked with my aunt, Rebecca Zdybel, who is an exceptionally talented artist and art teacher based in South Carolina. She has always been one of my favourite people in the world and in recent years, we've been able to add another layer to our relationship as mutual artists. We had a conversation about how different art forms can inform each other and by the end, all I wanted to do was write so that I could begin applying some of the wisdom she shared from her knowledge based in colour and painting theory. One of my favourite moments came about when we discussed a painting of hers that I particularly love. Listen in to hear how this image brought us to an understanding of art as an appreciation of beauty in the non-extraordinary.
